Phuket’s latest temple to luxury sticks out, quite literally: the resort is set at the tip of a narrow east-coast peninsula that juts into the warm blue waters of Phang Nga Bay. It’s a spot that gives Point Yamu by COMO (doubles from US$282) more than the usual amount of seclusion and karst-studded sea views; other highlights awaiting guests after Point Yamu’s November debut include 106 clean-lined rooms and pool villas, Italian and Thai restaurants overseen by chef Daniel Moran (fresh from the group’s Parrot Cay retreat in the Turks and Caicos), and a spa with Thai massage alcoves and a yoga studio. –Christi Hang
