Just when you thought the opulent Palm Jumeirah archipelago couldn’t fit another resort, the Anantara group unveils its latest property on the man-made islands. Designed in the shape of a palm tree, the 560-hectare Palm Jumeirah off the coast of Dubai plays host to a series of resorts from the original 1,500 room Atlantis Hotel to the Fairmont resort opened in December of 2012. The archipelago’s latest opening is Anantara’s fifth property in the United Arab Emirates, with another project to debut later this year. The Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa boasts urban beachfront accommodations with 10,000 square meters of lagoon pools. A 400 meter stretch of private beach provides a respite from the desert climate along with a choice of 16 signature treatments from the Anantara Spa. The resort also adds a repertoire of six dining establishments to the set of islands, giving guests the choice of Middle Eastern to Mediterranean flavors. Luxe accommodations range from one to two bedroom suites, with swim-up access and over water villas on offer. Anantara even maintains its hallmark Thai hospitality with quirky touches from floating market boats serving beverages in lagoons to three wheeler tuk-tuks transporting guests around the grounds.
