Hyatt’s first Andaz hotel in mainland Europe, the Andaz Amsterdam is set to impress with its sleek design when it opens on the site of a former public library in the city’s cultural district of Jordaan this summer. While the library’s facade is still recognizable, the hotel’s elegant interiors reflect the character of its neighborhood, which is peppered with art galleries and chic boutiques. Masterminded by Dutch architect and designer Marcel Wanders, the decor of the hotel’s 117 guest rooms and five suites injects contemporary notes into classic Dutch elements.
Launched in 2007, the Andaz brand is more design-focused than its sister brands such as Grand Hyatt or Park Hyatt. Andaz Amsterdam will be the second hotel for the Hyatt Corporation in Europe, after Andaz Liverpool Street in London.
