Cathay Pacific is increasing its flights to the United States next year with the announcement of additional and new routes. Starting on June 1, 2014, the airline will add a fourth daily direct flight from Los Angeles to Hong Kong to be serviced by a Boeing 777-300ER that will have first, business, premium economy, and economy class seats. Then on August 2, Cathay will add three more direct flights from Chicago to Hong Kong, also with a 777-300ER that will have all of the same cabins except for first class. This will make for a total of 10 weekly flights from Chicago. Previously, the airline announced that it would start daily direct service from Newark Liberty International Airport to Hong Kong on March 1, 2014.

“The new Chicago-Hong Kong flights will offer much improved connections to our Asia network—including over 22 destinations in mainland China and six in India—and the morning departure from Hong Kong to Los Angeles will give passengers the option of a morning arrival into the city, with a range of onward connections to other US cities.  Additionally, the launch of our Newark-Hong Kong service on March 1, 2014, will provide more convenience and greater flexibility for passengers traveling to and from the New York metropolitan area,” said Tom Owen, Cathay Pacific senior vice president of the Americas, in a statement.
