Fronted by a 200-meter stretch of beach, the Crowne Plaza Resort Panwa Beach on Thailand’s Phuket island is set to open on May 5. Located in Makham Bay — 10 minutes from Phuket town and 50 minutes from the airport — the 244-room resort features unobstructed views of the Andaman Sea, with diving, sailing, golf, and deep-sea fishing nearby. The property has a warm, modern aesthetic and features elements inspired by the island’s Sino-Portuguese heritage, such as rich woods and handcrafted art pieces, as well as white façades and marble cocooned by intricate lattice-work. A handful of dining options will be available, plus an al fresco lobby lounge with sunken couches and ocean views.
