Following more than a year of delays, Garuda Indonesia has launched its Jakarta-London route via a stopover in Amsterdam. A Boeing 777-300ER aircraft equipped with Wi-Fi, live TV, and a chef on board for first-class passengers serves the five-times-weekly route. Flight GA088 departs from Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta airport at 12:40 a.m. and arrives in London’s Gatwick at 11:50 a.m. the same day. The return flight GA089 departs from London at 1:10 p.m. and arrives in Jakarta at 11:40 a.m. one day later. Both routes include a two-hour stopover in Amsterdam and fly Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The 314-passenger plane is arranged in a three-class configuration with eight seats in first class, 38 in business class, and 268 in economy class. The new route is part of the airline’s ambitious “Quantam Leap” program to transform Garuda up to the standards of international airline alliance SkyTeam, which it joined last March.
