The new Iniala Beach House, located 20 minutes north of Phuket International Airport on the shores of Phang Nga province, might be one property but a walk through of its exclusive 10 suites, spread over three villas, will reveal one-of-a-kind spaces that showcase creative and luxurious features with original and innovative vision from a team of international designers. All of the villas and Iniala Penthouse Suite share impressive uninterrupted views of the golden-sand beach and Andaman Sea and individual spas but that’s where the similarities end.
Guided by the vision of Thai designer Eggarat Wongchakit, the Villa Siam promotes both Thai culture, Buddhism, and opulence all in equal measure, creating a space that is calming and plush. The highlight of the villa is its spa, which is located in an antique Thai bell.
The Villa Bianca was created by the A-Cero firm out of Spain and its two suites take their inspiration from seashells. The connected to nature continues as both suites have direct access to beach and to the private lap pool and is filled with white and natural wood features and furnishings.
The most eclectic villa is the Collector’s, which gets its unique look thanks to four designers from Brazil, Spain, Ireland, and New Zealand. Although each room has an individual look, they are all kitted out with fine components like crystal chandeliers, bespoke furniture, and well-appointed bathrooms. It might be hard for guests to leave their suites but the villa’s other features like a private cantilevered pool and 20-person screening room with 3D projector will surely lure them out.
Created by the resort’s chief design director Grant Lamb, the Iniala Penthouse Suite aims to create a whole environment inspired by the idea of a futuristic desertscape. The floor seemingly melts underfoot and Lamb has created unusal furniture like a bed doesn’t touch the floor and seating that is built into the architecture of the suite.
Stays at the resort are sold as inclusive packages that include hours of spa treatments, day-trip picnics, barbeques, credit at select restaurants in Phuket or Natai, and daily meals at the resort plus special dinners at Azimendi, Iniala’s restaurant headed up by Spain three-starred chef Eneko Atxa. Also on hand to help guests with whatever they need is a professional staff that includes everyone from a driver to a spa therapist to a butler.
Also worth nothing is the fact that resort owner Mark Weingard also has a 10-year-old charity called The Inspirasia Foundation which focuses on education, health, and disability programs in Asia. Ten percent of Iniala Beach House room revenue and 5 percent of the other resort revenue goes back to the organization.
