Set to open in June, InterContinental Danang Resort is situated on central Vietnam’s Son Tra Peninsula amid green hills and long, sandy beaches. Overlooking the South China Sea, the resort feels secluded yet works well as a base for exploring multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary.

The resort’s 168 rooms, over 20 suites, and five beachfront villas (with private pools) blend modern conveniences with traditional Vietnamese architecture. All are strategically placed to offer the best possible views of the ocean.

The resort offers three dining options: Citron, serving Western and Asian a la carte dishes with a Vietnamese twist; La Maison 1888, for world-class dining; and Barefoot Café, which dishes out prime cuts and seafood on the beach.

InterContinental Danang is the chain’s first resort-type property in Vietnam.

Also in the area is the Fusion Maia Da Nang resort, which made last year’s Luxe List. See The Luxe List 2011, Vietnam: Fusion Maia Da Nang, Danang.
