Hotel group Kempinski has opened the elegant Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square in the Lithuanian capital. Famed for its UNESCO World Heritage Old Town and its former status as a European cultural capital—not to mention being the first city to have a bronze likeness of Frank Zappa cast at the wishes of the government—the cosmopolitan city of Vilnius has much to recommend it.

The hotel’s 96 guest rooms and suites each possess unique traits, but are united by rich woods and bright tones—their high ceilings hold plenty of natural light, while the views onto Cathedral Square are complemented by alcove balconies in Deluxe Rooms. A two-story Cupola Suite is a good choice for families, and the hotel restaurant, Telegrafas, offers European cuisine in a relaxed setting.
