Secret Guy Business
By Nicholas Walton

Guys who secretly love (or not) to be poked and prodded into submission will feel right at home with the new men’s only facial treatment recently introduced at Hong Kong’s award-wining Oriental Spa. Hidden away on the 5th floor of the Landmark Mandarin Oriental in Central district, the Oriental Spa is an urban oasis that has the untapped XY market firmly in its sights thanks to its innovative concept.

The perfect post-meeting pamper, gents can arrive early to make the most of the 25,000 sq ft spa hydro-therapies, which include a Hamam steam and scrub room, a vitality pool with water lounges, Asia’s first Moroccan rasul, a Roman laconium, a novel tropical rain sauna, and even a mint-scented ice shower that’s not for the faint of heart. In a relaxation room, day beds are wired up with noise-reducing headphones, personal reading lamps, and piped-in spa music. The whole space is luxurious and inviting, and well suited for a group of guys looking to relax and work up a sweat far from the office, or for business travellers looking to unwind after a long day’s boardroom battling.

The fun starts in one of 15 private treatment suites, with the spa’s new men’s only TwinLuxe Performance Facial. Using products specifically formulated for male skin, this indulgent facial combines a host of mini-treatments, including a daily detox face wash mask, an instant energy mist, a renewing face wash scrub, an instant rescue gel, and a once over with the brand’s award-wining Anti-Aging SPF Moisturizer. The process is soothing; the lights are turned down low, the massage bed elevated just right, the various gels and creams heated in the hands of experienced therapists. Your manhood might be tested when it comes to the “extraction” of pollutants from your pours, but you’ll leave feeling fresh, revived, glowing and once again the envy of the office.
