Two blocks south of Central Park, Christian de Portzamparc’s 90-story One57 soars as one of Manhattan’s tallest skyscrapers. It’s here that the Park Hyatt New York (153 W. 57th St.;1-646/ 774-1234; doubles from US$795) debuts in August as the brand’s global flagship. Designed by Yabu Pushelberg, the 210 spacious guest rooms are filled with era-spanning mismatched furniture, while the sleek black staff uniforms are the work of Narciso Rodriguez.
