AirAsia Philippines to Start Manila – KL Service on June 9

AirAsia Philippines, which launched operations in late March, will offer its first international service starting June 9, between its hub Clark International Airport (just north of Manila) and Kuala Lumpur. It will employ new Airbus A320 aircraft on the service.

Philippines’ AirAsia also offers services from Clark to Davao, Kalibo (Boracay), and Puerto Princesa City (Palawan). Expect a much higher profile for the AirAsia brand within the Philippines going forward, with the airline planning to offer more domestic and international routes.

A bit confusingly, the airline’s first international route is also serviced by AirAsia itself. AirAsia’s morning service will be complemented by the afternoon service of the new Philippines’ AirAsia service.

The AirAsia service leaves Clark at 11:05 a.m. and arrives Kuala Lumpur at 3:20 p.m, then the other way departs KL at 6:45 a.m. and lands in Clark at 10:30 a.m. The Philippines AirAsia service will leave Clark at 3:15 p.m. and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 7 p.m. It will leave KL at 7:50 p.m. and return to Clark at 11:35 p.m.

AirAsia Philippines has recently canceled plans to start a Manila-Macau service, but announced that it will start flying between Manila and Hong Kong in July instead.
