With its palm-studded grounds and elegant villas, the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui (66-77/243-000) is an undeniably easeful place. But for guests with any lingering anger issues, there’s now a hillside muay thai kickboxing ring equipped with punch bags, speed balls, kicking shields, and knockout (pardon the pun) views over the Gulf of Thailand to the distant islands of Mu Ko Ang Thong marine park. Designed by Bangkok-based architect Bill Bensley, the breezy facility caters to novices and experienced practitioners alike, with a professional trainer on hand to guide guests through the techniques of the so-called “art of eight limbs.” For those even more serious about muay thai, the resort has created a package that includes a sparring session with a pro fighter and a VIP ticket to a fight night at Samui’s Chaweng Boxing Stadium. Also available? A Muay Thai Recovery massage at the Four Seasons’ spa. —Chris Kirkpatrick
