After having released its former Jimbaran property in 2009, The Ritz-Carlton has once again staked out a spot in Bali, this time returning to the idyllic island’s southern tip in the exclusive enclave of Nusa Dua. Perched on 12.7 hectares of cliff-top and beach-front land, the property opened on February 2 and boasts 313 hotel rooms, including 34 villas, all of which offer 180-degree views of Nusa Dua’s coastline and the Indian Ocean beyond. Much of the contemporary interiors borrow design influences from local craftsmen, namely the woven technique of “anyaman,” creating a sanctuary that is as elegant as it is rustic. And whoever books one of the cliff-top accommodations need not fret—a 70-meter high glass elevator provides direct access to the beach.

Six restaurants and lounges can be found throughout The Ritz-Carlton Bali’s property, offering everything from the usual island fare of fresh seafood served shore-side to personally-tailored experiences in Indonesian cuisine. The resort also features the Ritz Kids center, a facility created for inquisitive young explorers with separate play and study areas as well as a private pool. The soon-to-open Ritz-Carlton Spa, surrounded by lush foliage, will consist of 14 treatment rooms that seamlessly incorporate indoor and outdoor spaces for a serene spa setting. Facilities would not be complete without an oceanfront wedding chapel, which can be booked for up to 200 guests.
