Qantas’ new A330 made its first international trip in a service from Melbourne to Singapore on January 17. The reconfigured aircraft was adopted for international services following the introduction of the first upgraded domestic A330 last month, and it now features new Recaro seats and dining options in economy, the latest inflight entertainment technology, and most notably, lie-flat Business Suites—designed in collaboration with Marc Newson—that allow travelers to remain reclined from takeoff through to landing. The inaugural international A330 flight also introduced a limited-edition Business Sleep Collection amenity kit, designed and filled by local Australian brands Oroton and Aspar. More than half of Qantas’ 28 A330 aircrafts are expected to be refurbished by the end of 2015, with the project to be completed by the end of 2016.
