Air New Zealand Reveals Hobbit Video

Air New Zealand is now synonymous with quirky, inventive safety videos and branding. Earlier this year Betty White starred in the Kiwi airline’s safety clip, and the latest video follows their 2012 spoof on The Hobbit for yet another quirky promotional spot. The video, “Just Another Day in Middle-earth”, stars Kiwi actor Dean O’Gorman, who plays the dwarf Fili, and the voice of Sylvester McCoy, The Hobbit Trilogy‘s Radagast the Brown. Air New Zealand staff also star in the video as Hobbit versions of themselves, from flight attendants, pilots, aircraft engineers, to baggage handlers as they encounter signs of Middle Earth in their daily lives. The sequel film, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, will premiere December 13, 2013. As part of the Air New Zealand promotion, the airline is giving away a trip to the film’s premiere in Hollywood or a Middle Earth-themed trip to New Zealand. Air New Zealand will also reveal its new Hobbit-decorated Boeing 777-300 aircraft livery on December 2.
