Want to experience Air Berlin’s fully flat business-class seats for less? Passengers now have the chance to bid on business-class upgrades. Up to 72 hours before departure, ticketed economy passengers can submit bids on the airline’s website for the amount they would pay for the premium upgrade. The bid doesn’t replace the cost of the original ticket, however, so don’t bid more than the seat was originally sold for. Air Berlin will notify passengers 12 hours before departure about whether the bid was successful. Business-class patrons will enjoy aisle access from every position, seats with massage functions, 15″ LED monitors, and electrical sockets to accommodate a range of devices. Winning bidders will also enjoy priority check-in, fast lane boarding, and lounge access in addition to their upgrade, which makes the process all the more exciting.
