British Airways is now offering two new fare options. After finding success with lower fares for passengers at Gatwick only carrying hand luggage, the airline will extend the program to London City and Heathrow airports. Passengers can now book the lower fares with travel from Heathrow to nine European destinations— Amsterdam, Stockholm, Barcelona, Paris’s Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, Rome, Rotterdam, Glasgow, and Edinburgh—starting on September 24. The hand-luggage fare allows passengers to bring on a regulation-sized piece of carry-on luggage, plus a handbag or laptop case.
BA also announced the start of a trial of semi-flex flares between Heathrow and the same destinations as the new hand-luggage fares. The semi-flex option will allow passengers to change their booking on the day of travel, depending on availability, without paying an extra fee.
