Thai AirAsia is dropping its daily Chiang Mai-Singapore service on May 21 and replacing it with a daily Chiang Mai-Macau service the next day. Bookings for the latter will be available later this month. The budget airline is planning to make Chiang Mai one of its hubs in Thailand, the other being Phuket and Suvarnabhumi. From Chiang Mai the airline already flies to Bangkok eight times a day, Ubon Ratchathani three, Phuket two, and Hat Yai one.
