Brisbane is now the third Australian city to be serviced by Emirates with an Airbus A380 aircraft. The route from Dubai to Brisbane and Auckland uses the world’s largest passenger aircraft and began service on October 1. Emirates previously serviced the route with a Boeing 777-300ER and is currently the only airline to service Brisbane with an A380. With the aircraft upgrade there is an additional 135 seats per flight, increasing the capacity to 1,890 seats a week. The Emirates A380 is set in a three-class configuration with 399 seats in Economy Class, 76 fully-flat beds in Business Class, and 14 First Class private suites. In 2012 alone, Emirates added 11 A380s to its fleet. Emirates is currently the world’s largest operator of aircraft.
