Etihad Airways has announced plans to move the launch of its new A380 service to New York to an earlier date. The Superjumbo, which has been making waves thanks to The Residence—a three-room suite comprising a living room, a bathroom, and a bedroom that comes with a personal butler service—will be one of the airline’s two flights to New York starting November 23. The new date is one week earlier from its original December 1 schedule. The new aircraft will feature 417 economy seats, 70 business class seats, 9 first class seats and will accommodate up to two people in The Residence.
“The overwhelmingly positive response we have received to our A380 service on our Abu Dhabi to London and Sydney routes, as well as for our upcoming launch to New York has exceeded our expectations” said Etihad CEO James Hogan. “With the early introduction of our A380 service into New York, we look forward to further redefining what world-class air travel can be for our guests travelling on Etihad Airways across all classes of service.”
