Etihad Airways has unveiled its new Premium Lounge for passengers traveling to and from Melbourne International Airport as it prepares for the launch of its first A380 services to the city on July 1. Spanning over 500 square meters and accommodating up to 133 people, the space is the airline’s second lounge in Australia and is its largest lounge facility outside of its home base Abu Dhabi. Fliers will be spoiled with a selection of a la carte menu and a buffet in a dedicated dining area in between flights, while a lounge at the cocktail bar offers local Victorian wines and more than 70 spirits and aperitifs. If you’re traveling with children, a play area for kids will make sure the little one is entertained before boarding the plane.
“The new Premium Lounge at Melbourne Airport is in a class of its own. Blending the best of a fine-dining restaurant and a chic city cocktail bar, this lounge is a showcase of intelligent design and sophistication,” said Shane O’Hare, Etihad’s senior vice president of marketing. “The opening of this remarkable new facility and the launch of our flagship A380 services on 1 June, offer travelers on the Melbourne-Abu Dhabi route our most compelling guest experience proposition ever.”
