Etihad Airways will double its daily frequency between Abu Dhabi and New York City beginning March 1. An additional daily flight will depart from Abu Dhabi International Airport at 1:45 a.m. arriving at John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) at 7:45 a.m. the same day. The return flight will leave JFK at 11:35 a.m. and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 9:20 a.m. the next day. Two Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, leased from Etihad’s strategic partner Jet Airways, will service the route. From May 1, Jet Airways will operate the new flights under a codeshare agreement. Cabins will be outfitted with a three-class seating arrangement. The new schedule will allow additional links to Etihad’s more than 30 destinations in India, Africa, the Middle East, and Central and Southeast Asia. From New York, passengers will also have a choice of connections throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
