Etihad Airways has announced the launch of direct flights to Los Angeles, California from its Abu Dhabi headquarters. The flight is slated to begin June 1, 2014 pending regulatory approvals. The addition of Los Angeles to Etihad’s global network will create a total of four destinations in the United States, including Chicago, New York, and Washington D.C. A Boeing 777-200LR will service the route with a capacity of 237guests. With Etihad’s airplane configuration eight guests can be seated in the plane’s Diamond First Class, 40 in the Pearl Business Class, and 189 in the Coral Economy Class seats. The flight will have a call number of EY171 and will depart daily from Abu Dhabi at 8:45 a.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 2:15 p.m. the same day. The return flight, EY170, will the depart Los Angeles at 4:15 p.m. and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 7:35 p.m. the following day.
