Qatar Airways has confirmed the second route to be serviced by its new fleet of A380s: Paris Charles de Gaulle to the new Hamad International Airport in Doha. The route will begin on July 3, flown by the second of its 13 A380s. (The first begins flying London Heathrow to Doha on June 17). “These aircraft, with their customized cabins and five-star specifications, will set a new level of comfort for our passengers, who will also benefit from the smooth and pleasant passenger experience at the world’s newest hub, Hamad International Airport—the soon to be home of Qatar Airways,” said Akbar Al Baker, chief executive officer of Qatar Airways.
The cabins in reference have been buzzed about at length: first, business, and economy class cabins in the double-decker A380, largest passenger jet in the world. The first-class seats transform fully into flat beds and are equipped with 26-inch-screen entertainment centers. Six gates of Doha’s new airport were specifically designed for the aircraft, as well. One of the fastest growing airlines in the world, Qatar Airways recently joined the Oneworld global alliance network of airlines, giving flyers access to a host of amenities and rewards programs.
