Flown by Royal Brunei Airlines’ first female captain, the inaugural BI098 flight took off from London’s Heathrow Airport for Dubai then Brunei via a Boeing 787 Dreamliner in December. Royal Brunei is the first airline in Southeast Asia to fly the Dreamliner, which has been dubbed the Betterfly by the airline, and said the next route the aircraft will be used on is a daily long-haul flight to Melbourne. The boutique airline currently flies to 15 destinations across four continent including Hong Kong, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Melbourne.
