Passengers flying SkyTeam member airlines at the Hong Kong International Airport can now spend the hours waiting for their flight in the comfort of the airline alliance’s new exclusive lounge. Opened late October, the lounge, designed by Mitchel Squires, is located at the airport’s Terminal 1 and is SkyTeam’s fourth exclusive lounge in the world after Istanbul, London, and Sydney. It accommodates to 230 first- and business-class passengers, as well as elite plus members from 12 SkyTeam airlines flying to and from the airport, although it is operated by both China Airlines and China Eastern. Facilities include an extensive bar selection, a hot and cold buffet of international cuisine, shower rooms, work stations, and a noodle bar with cooked-to-order meals. With soft white tones dominating the room, its fresh and relaxing ambiance of the lounge is further enhanced with what the living wall, comprising 50 different botanical species, and a yoga room for travelers to stretch the muscles in between flights. The lounge is open daily between 5:30 a.m. and 1:00 a.m.

“Our goal is to invest in shared facilities at airports around the world in order to deliver a consistently high level of service to our members’ customers as well as creating synergies for our members at airports served by multiple SkyTeam airlines,” said SkyTeam’s managing director Michael Wisbrun. “This exclusive lounge will provide a relaxing environment for passengers in which to unwind before catching their next flight.”
