Star Wars Lounge Opens in Japan

Japan-based carrier All Nippon Airways has opened a Star Wars-themed kids’ lounge at Haneda Airport’s Terminal 2.

A veritable playground, it has a slide, cushioned benches, story books, and other kid-friendly items. The space will be decorated with the likeness of characters such as C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8.

The announcement follows the unveiling of the C3PO ANA jet this March, which features the character’s power coupler outlet (the circle on his chest), wiring, and gold color.

Hainan Airlines To Fly to New York

The Big Apple has become the target destination of China-based carrier Hainan Airlines. It will introduce a Chengdu to New York route on October 26. Previously, the airline launched a twice a week service from Chonqing to New York. A B787-9 Dreamliner will service the new route.

Virgin Australia to Introduce Wi-Fi

Passengers of Virgin Australia will now have the opportunity to stay connected to the Internet even when on-air after the airline equips its fleet with in-flight Wi-Fi.

Its jets—specifically its Boeing 737s, 777s, and Airbus A330s—will be fully connected by 2019. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Optus satellites will power the Wi-Fi for domestic flights while global network providers Intelsat and SES will be used for international flights.
