1. Biennale of Sydney

Happening from March 16 to June 11, the Biennale of Sydney will feature 70 artists from 35 countries, displaying close to 60 per cent new works. Renowned globally for its controversial and experimental commissions, Australia’s pre-eminent art fair will span several venues in Sydney. This year’s theme “Superposition: Equilibrium & Engagement” will see the artists examining issue of migration from their own life stories and world events.

2. Shanghai Biennale

Shanghai Biennale, one of Asia’s most influential biennales and showcase of contemporary art, will take place from November 10, 2018 to March 10, 2019. In its 12th edition, the exhibition will be curated by art critic Mr Cuauhtemoc Medina, who has expressed his wishes to produce an exhibition that will “enhance the importance of a growing cultural production that infuses subjective complexity into the complex texture of our times.”

3. Bangkok Art Biennale

Bangkok’s very first Art Biennale will be held from November 2018 to February 2019, with exhibited artists including the Yugoslavia-born performance artist Marina Abramovic. The biennale will be set in unique venues including historic temples and modern galleries, in line with its aim to engage with the city’s rich cultural heritage.
