3 Upcoming Jazz Festivals in Southeast Asia

From Jakarta, Singapore, to Malaysia’s coastal city of Miri, Southeast Asia is never short of musical festivities that draw not just an audience of local enthusiasts but also fans from other neighboring countries. Here we highlight three annual jazz-focused festivals that’s keeping the music alive across the region.

Java Jazz in Jakarta

One of the largest jazz festivals in the region, Indonesia’s Java Jazz Festival has been bringing big and up-and-coming names from all over the world to its stages since it first kicked off in 2005. This year, the event is celebrating its 12th year with an abundance of talent that span over 40 international and local artists, including singer-songwriter David Foster and trumpeter Chris Botti. Java Jazz Festival 2016 will run from March 4 to 6 at the Jakarta International Expo in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
