Asia’s premier boating and luxury lifestyle event returns for its ninth year with regional launches, soirees, and a floating leisure hub.
Imagine sailing off into the golden sunset, with a flute of champagne in your hand. Whether you’re a yacht connoisseur or new to the whole idea of luxury sailing, Singapore Yacht Show 2019 (SYS2019) looks set to stir up new inspirations for your next seafaring journey.
Returning from 11 to 14 April at the ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, the ninth edition of Singapore Yacht Show will showcase world-leading yachting brands. That’s not all, car fanatics can also check out the Lamborghini Rendezvous on Saturday and the Ferrari Rendezvous on Sunday.
Here’s what to look out for:
1. New yachts making their Asia premieres
Keep your eyes peeled for various yachting brands as they present their latest vessels, with some making their debut in Asia. Highlights include Simpson Marine, which will present a 14-strong line-up featuring the flagship of the Sanlorenzo’s SD line, the Sanlorenzo 126 superyacht, as well as the Monte Carlo Yachts 96; as well as Princess Yachts, with local dealer Boat Lagoon Yachting, which will showcase a fleet featuring four regional debuts including the Princess F45, the latest addition to the Princess flybridge range. Meanwhile, Specialist multihull builder Fountaine Pajot will be presenting three catamarans, two of which will be making their regional premieres–the new MY40 motor yacht and the Alegria 67.
2. SYS2019 gala evening and awards
Taking place on 10 April at Capitol Theatre, the dazzling SYS2019 Gala Evening & Awards is a prestigious black-tie event that gathers the biggest names in the global yachting industry and special VIP guests. With a theme that celebrates the glamour of the 1920s, the soiree will feature a champagne reception, followed by a lavish four-course dinner and a series of performances. The long-running and highly anticipated Asia Boating Awards will also form a crucial part of the evening’s entertainment.
3. Floating leisure hub
Adrenaline junkies ought to make a beeline for the Floating Leisure Hub, which will be located in the middle of the marina. Soak up the sun by a 10-meter-long floating swimming pool and enjoy live demonstrations of the latest personal watercraft, including jet skis, submersibles, inflatables, day boats, fishing equipment, and drones.
Visitors can also look forward to the showcase of Volocopter 2X, the world’s first fully electric manned vertical take-off (VTOL) aircraft. The aircraft’s 18 quiet rotors and simple operation using a single joystick mean no combustion engine, no noise, and no complex mechanics, allowing anyone to take flight. Hot favorites Flyboard and Waydoo–an electric hydrofoil–will also return to the show’s on-water demo platform.
4. Shopping and dining
Make the most of your day out by checking out the food and beverage options, as well as the latest offerings from bespoke jewelry designs, to fashion items and artwork.
Prices start from US$16 for an advance single day pass and US$113 for the VIP pass. Tickets can be purchased here.
