Beyond Bombay
In South Mumbai, the Kala Ghoda art precinct is home to some of the best galleries and museums in town—and in India, for that matter. In February, the streets fill with street art and installations for the annual Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, but at all other times of the year, the best way to explore the area is with Beyond Bombay’s Art Musings tour, which lets you customize your itinerary and have a chance to meet some of the area’s artists and gallerists. There are plenty of options to fill your route, but don’t miss the nearly 65-year-old Jehangir Art Gallery, the David Sassoon Library, and the National Gallery of Modern Art, which houses one of India’s top 20th-century art collections, including works of F. N. Souza (US$46 per person).
