A Taste of ’90s Britpop at W London

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Oasis vs Blur UK chart battle, W London Leicester Square last week launched The Britpop Collection, a vinyl library that guests can conveniently explore through room service. Available starting August 14, the hotel has teamed up with Britpop lady icon Lauren Laverne, who has selected 40 vinyl records that will provide guests access to the finest sounds from Britain’s independent music scene in the early ’90s. The program follows the hotel’s successful Vinyl Collection library in 2013, when it collaborated with DJ Annie Mac. Among the records hand-picked by Laverne for this year’s collection are Blur’s Parklife, Oasis’ Definitely Maybe, and Catatonia’s International Velvet.  To order, guests can simply select a record through the hotel’s 24-hour concierge service and have them delivered along with a Crosley turntable to play throughout their stay.
