The flag carrier of Mexico is making light of the U.S. border drama with an ad campaign that’s gone viral.
In light of the ongoing US border wall drama, AeroMexico’s recent ad campaign—which promises discounts to Americans with Mexican DNA—has received tens of thousands of likes on social media.”
Unveiled in December, the commercial features residents of Wharton, Texas answering whether they’d travel across the border. The answers were no holds barred, and often hilarious.
The ad says: “Mexico’s first destination is America, but America’s first destination is not Mexico. So, we went to a typical American town to ask why they don’t consider Mexico an option to travel to.”
A majority of the answers were flat-out negative. One man even adds: “Let me stay here in peace and let those folks stay on their side of the border.”
Then, the revelation comes. An off-screen voice announces that the number of Americans with Mexican heritage is on the rise and proceeds to tell the residents that they too have Mexican blood in them.
Turns out, Americans who do have some Mexican descent are offered a discount based on the percentage put forward by a DNA test.
Meanwhile, the video has received tens of thousands of likes after being posted on various social media platforms.
