It’s official: Airbnb is moving above and beyond its humble home-sharing roots to attract luxury-minded travelers who covet exclusive access to some of the world’s most beautiful stays.

Following the launch of Airbnb Plus, a tier of quality, “verified” homes last April, the home rental company has unveiled Airbnb Luxe. An exponential leap from the company’s beginnings of renting out air mattresses 11 years ago, the premium tier offers unique properties and end-to-end trip planning.

In short, one barely needs to lift a finger as the trip designer does it all for you—from arranging bespoke experiences, offering useful local knowledge, to round-the-clock VIP support. The result? A tailor-made experience that is inclusive of everything you might need, including childcare services, private chefs, in-house massages, and even personal gym training sessions.

With the Luxe tier, travelers can choose from more than 2,000 handpicked homes from around the world. Not only are they luxurious in every sense of the word; these homes also pass strict standards in terms of design and function, from chef-grade appliances to premium finishes. Think: Stays that are destinations in themselves, including award-winning homes in New Zealand and South Africa, castles in France, breathtaking historic villas in Tuscany, as well as modern luxury villas in Thailand’s most stunning resort destinations.

Brian Chesky, Airbnb Co-Founder, CEO and Head of Community said: “Today’s luxury traveler is craving more than just high-end accommodations; they seek transformation and experiences that leave them feeling more connected to each other and to their destination.”

Among the homes available are The Fleming Villa in Jamaica, where author Ian Fleming wrote his spy novels, and a private island in French Polynesia, curated by Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte.
