This year, Alila Hotels and Resorts will be making even more inroads into Asia by opening five properties and making its debut in Cambodia, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka.
Alila, which means “surprise” in Sanskrit, is a luxury boutique hotel group known for its authentic and luxurious guest experiences.
Opening in May is Alila Bangsar, a modern urban retreat occupying the top floors of mixed-used building The Establishment in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 143-room property will feature elegant rooms and two restaurants, Botanica + Co and Entier Restaurant, along with three bars helmed by the award-winning Proof & Company.
Come July, Jakarta will welcome Alila SCBD, which is the group’s second property in the Indonesian capital. The hotel will be strategically located near major corporate offices, as well as shopping and entertainment facilities.
September will see the unveiling of Alila Wuzhen, which is nestled in the historic and picturesque Wuzhen water town in China. Guests can expect to stay in 125 suites, villas, and pool villas, each with private courtyards.

Alila Koggala in Sri Lanka will open in October, welcoming guests with stunning views of the Koggala Lake. Taking its cues from the natural surroundings, the property is slated to be an eco-resort that boasts a variety of dining options.
In November, Alila will open Alila Villas Koh Russey, its first property in Cambodia. Situated at the Koh Rong archipelago, the five-star private island eco-resort will have 63 suites and villas, as well as the beachfront Spa Alila.
These five new properties launching this year will be a fine addition to the group’s current portfolio, which spans the Middle East, India, China, Indonesia, and more.
