For the past four years, Aman Hotels and Resorts has been translating the allure of its destinations into practical items for everyday life through Aman Essentials, a purveyor of custom-made fragrances and skincare products, ready-to-wear clothes (which were rolled out last year), and now, a brand-new line of leather accessories. Named the Leather Collection, the latest addition to Aman Essentials comprises 19 designs ranging from wallets and passport sleeves to handbags and folios, all of which feature subtle details and have a contemporary appeal to express Aman’s sleek style.

For wallets and credit card holders, the simple geometry of the Aman logo has been combined with the origami technique to create pocket detailing, while contrasting nappa linings were inspired by the landscapes of Aman destinations, with a palette of colors such as “white sand” and aqua, “Aman gray” and “sunrise.” Complex layering techniques and the use of negative space reveal the apex of the letter “A” from the Aman logo, which also appears embossed on tote bags and is hand-transcribed on signature leather charms using traditional marquetry techniques. Durable and lightweight, the oversize tote bags come in three varieties: one is adorned in a print of the Aman monogram, another is jet-black and minimalistic for a unisex option, and the final design matches leather with a mix of ultra-soft cotton and raffia.

Each of the pieces have been handcrafted by family-owned workshops in France and Italy, combining lamb, goat, and calfskin from artisan tanneries with Italian hardware and ergonomic zips designed to fit the curve of the hand. While travelers can pick up the new accessories in Aman boutiques at Aman destinations around the world, The Leather Collection is also available on Aman’s e-commerce platform, which offers global distribution.
