Animal-loving parents considering a trip to Thailand now have another reason to check in to the Anantara brand’s rustic-luxe outpost in the Golden Triangle. With the completion of the two-bedroom Jungle Bubble Lodge, guests of all ages will get to bask in creature comforts while admiring rescue elephants at close range as they graze in a jungle habitat. Custom-designed by Spanish firm SkyBubbles (formerly Eye In The Sky) and built with high-tech polyester fabric, it’s the latest addition to Anantara Golden Triangle’s Jungle Bubbles, a series of transparent lodgings first introduced in 2019.

The brand-new Jungle Bubble Lodge is elevated on a wooden deck, promising uninterrupted views of the resident elephants and the stars when conditions are clear. And there’s plenty of room to roam as the accommodation spans 150 square meters of indoor and outdoor living space. Up to four people can sleep inside the climate-controlled bedrooms, which each have a king bed and an enclosed non-transparent en-suite shower and vanity. The two bedrooms are connected by a living room with lounge furnishings, a minibar, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Bathrobes and slippers are provided, alongside bathroom amenities, crisp bedding, and regular and feather pillows. Outside, an 80-square-meter wooden deck offers ample space for elephant viewing; it also features alfresco lounging and dining areas and even a plunge pool.

Those spending the night in the Jungle Bubble Lodge also have the chance to enjoy optional elephant experiences, including waking up early to accompany pachyderms on their morning walk to the nearby Ruak River for a bath. Or they can invite the resort’s elephant specialist for sundowners on the deck (with drinks prepared by a personal butler) to learn about the plight of elephants and their future in Thailand. Another choice is a guided yoga session, also on the private deck, as the gentle giants look on. This will then be followed by a wholesome breakfast.

The Jungle Bubble Lodge experience is offered as an add-on at Anantara Golden Triangle, with guests spending the night from dusk till dawn, before returning to the hotel in the morning. Rates start from US$1,140 per night for up to four people and include butler service, a set menu dinner, a fully stocked minibar, plus 24-hour in-room dining.
