The fourth edition of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants was revealed at an awards ceremony at the W Hotel in Bangkok this week, with the city’s contemporary Indian restaurant, Gaggan, claiming the top spot for the second consecutive year. Narisawa in Tokyo has also maintained its position as the second best on the list, while chef André Chiang’s restaurant, André, climbed two places to rank third and also claimed the Best Restaurant in Singapore title for its fourth year in a row. Among the list’s 10 new entries this year is Locavore, in Ubud, Bali, whose contemporary European and Indonesian cuisine landed it the 49th spot and was named the best restaurant in Indonesia. Ranking 30th on the list, Le Moût in Taichung continues to be the only restaurant on the list helmed by a female chef.
