Now that Laos is welcoming fully inoculated travelers with no quarantine or testing (only proof of vaccination and insurance are required), luxe digs in the country’s UNESCO-listed former royal capital are tempting visitors back with unmissable deals. Guests staying three nights or more at Avani+ Luang Prabang Hotel will enjoy a range of perks under the Laos Reopening Offer, which starts from US$110 per night in an Avani Deluxe room for two. Benefits range from daily breakfast and return airport transfers to a sunset cruise aboard one of Mekong Kingdoms’ pleasure craft, complete with canapes and cocktails. Also included? A 20 percent discount on treatments at the in-house Anantara Spa.

Located opposite the night market, and a short stroll from attractions like the Royal Palace and Phousi Hill, the 53-room Avani+ Luang Prabang incorporates a revamped heritage bungalow built for the French military in 1914. The understated guest rooms and suites are arranged around a 25-meter swimming pool, and feature teak furniture, hand-stitched Hmong textiles, and French doors that open out to a balcony or terrace with a daybed. Guests have the option to take part in an alms-giving ceremony at sunrise, when local monks in saffron-colored robes walk the streets to collect their daily meal from Luang Prabang’s faithful.
