Listen up—the luxury hospitality company will soon be bringing music into your living room via its Instagram account.

British musician Joe Stilgoe will kick off Belmond’s series of live-streamed concerts.
While we may not be able to travel for the foreseeable future, the Belmond group of luxury hotels, trains, and river cruises believes we can still transport our minds through the power of music. Tonight, at 6 p.m. GMT (that’s 2 a.m. Saturday morning for you night owls in Singapore), the brand will launch its first live-streamed concert on @Belmond on Instagram, hosted by British pianist and singer Joe Stilgoe. The 30-minute show comes in lieu of the Roaring Twenties-themed The Party that was due to take place at Venice’s Belmond Hotel Cipriani and aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express this weekend. Expect a Gatsby-esque playlist of what F. Scott Fitzgerald would have called “yellow cocktail music,” best enjoyed with a homemade version of such classic Prohibition-era cocktails as the Mary Pickford or Bee’s Knees.
The concert is the first in a series of “Belmond Invitations”—a virtual theater of programs designed to bring entertaining experiences into people’s homes while the world of travel is on pause. But that’s not all. Over the course of the next few weeks, Belmond will release what it calls a “Good Living” journey across its digital platforms, featuring uplifting content designed to soothe the senses. Friends of Belmond will be reminded to start the day with a calming meditation by wellness experts Nadia Narain and Katia Narain Phillips, or get access to recipes for make-at-home spa therapies. Also in the cards are classical music playlists created by English broadcaster and musician Clemency Burton-Hill, who has taken her cues from the various destinations in which Belmond operates. It’s just the thing to help us all adjust to a time of unprecedented stillness.
