Avid spa-goers now have all the more reason to pay a visit to the months-old Capella Bangkok, thanks to the opening of Auriga Wellness in the riverside property’s landscaped gardens. Spearheaded by wellness specialists GOCO Hospitality, which was also behind the spas at Capella resorts in Bali and Sanya, the 1,074-square-meter facility has seven treatment rooms, including two spa suites; a thermal bathing area; a tea lounge with an outdoor spa garden; and a well-stocked gym.
GOCO Hospitality has created a spa program nodding to the diverse communities that have lived along Charoenkrung Road for generations. Weary Bangkokians and out-of-towners can choose from an eclectic range of treatments that incorporate traditional Chinese medicine, Indian healing traditions, and Thai techniques like tok sen, a hammer massage introduced to Bangkok by settlers from Chiang Mai. Locally inspired spa treatments make use of organic medicinal herbs and spices, alongside Thai ingredients such as mung bean, black sesame, and riceberry. Auriga Wellness also offers signature facials and body therapies by London-based luxury skincare brand 111SKIN, including a special treatment for men and the distinctive non-surgical lift facial, which uses diamond powder to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
An extensive selection of body scrubs, wraps, and other cleansing rituals round out the treatment menu. Guests can also sign up for yoga, tai chi, and Muay Thai classes, as well as personal fitness training sessions and guided TRX workouts. Auriga Wellness is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on a daily basis. Click here to see the full spa menu; reservations can be made by emailing auriga.bangkok@capellahotels.com.
