The ultra-luxe retreat beside the Chao Phraya River will welcome its first guests this October.
While overseas leisure travel may not be a realistic option for the rest of this year, Bangkok residents can splurge on a staycation when the Capella brand’s first property in Thailand opens its doors on October 1. Part of the Chao Phraya Estate development in Charoenkrung, Capella Bangkok has just 101 guest rooms, suites, and villas, all of which enjoy front-row views of Thailand’s “river of kings.” Accommodation here ranges from 61 square meters to 595 square meters, and every room features floor-to-ceiling windows as well as a balcony or veranda. Better yet, each riverside villa and room in the Verandah category comes with a private outdoor Jacuzzi plunge pool.
Also noteworthy is the hotel’s exciting lineup of restaurants. These include the much-anticipated Côte by Mauro Colagreco, which will offer modern takes on traditional recipes of the French and Italian Riviera. Colagreco is something of a household name among foodies—his three-Michelin-starred restaurant in France, Mirazur, took top spot in “The World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards” last year. Elsewhere on the property, alfresco venue Phra Nakhon will specialize in Thai cuisine, while Stella will present gourmet pastries, desserts, and drinks in a boudoir-inspired setting.
Capella Bangkok’s opening offer, A Star Is Born, is priced at THB 17,500++ per night for stays from October 1 onward. You’ll get a daily resort credit ranging from THB 3,000 to THB 8,000 nett per day (depending on the room category booked) that can be used on accommodation, dining at all on-site eateries, or spa treatments. Also part of the deal? Daily breakfast for two in your room or at the main restaurant, flexible check in and checkout times, free drinks from the non-alcoholic minibar, and complimentary pressing of up to five pieces of clothes per stay. Those bedding down in a villa will also receive round-trip limousine transfers.
