Capella Singapore Serves Up Cocktails from Manhattan Bar

Bottles of three award-winning tipples are available in every room and suite at the ultra-luxe Sentosa resort.

While the idea of going out for drinks may have lost its appeal in the age of Covid-19, Capella Singapore is now bringing the bar to its guests through a special collaboration with Manhattan Bar, which has made waves internationally since opening at Regent Singapore in 2014. (The venue recently ranked eighth among Asia’s 50 Best Bars and took 14th place on the list of The World’s 50 Best Bars.) Lion City residents who book a staycation in Capella’s Sentosa Island resort can look forward to tasting three of Manhattan’s award-winning artisanal pours without needing to leave their suite. In every guest room, the minibar comes stocked with the bottled cocktails and a range of essential ingredients so you can even play mixologist.

The first featured cocktail is Aged Manhattan, the bar’s signature drink and a concoction of Maker’s Mark bourbon whiskey, cherry liqueur, Mancino Rosso, and Angostura Bitters. Aged for four weeks in a Maker’s Mark Private Select barrel at Manhattan Bar’s very own rickhouse, this tipple is best served straight up with a maraschino cherry or two.

Another option is the classic Italian negroni, which blends equal parts of Roku Gin, Mancino Rosso, and Campari, ideally served over ice in a rocks glass. Finally, 1536 takes its inspiration from the corn ’n’ oil cocktail first developed in Barbados and recognized as an integral part of Bajan culture. Sugar cane and lime provide bright Caribbean flavors, while Navegante Rum, Capella Singapore’s exclusive rum label, gives the drink a local twist.

Manhattan x Capella curated pours are priced at S$88++ per 200ml bottle and are available exclusively in the villas and rooms of Capella Singapore.
