Trailing on this week’s theme of new flights between Asia Pacific and California, Cathay Pacific has added three direct flights from Hong Kong to San Francisco this week. San Francisco was Cathay’s first U.S. destination back in 1986, and with this new service, the carrier now offers 17 non-stop flights to the city weekly. The new route departs Hong Kong every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 6:45 p.m. and arrives in San Francisco at 4:30 p.m.; return flights depart San Francisco every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 1:30 a.m. and arrive in Hong Kong the following day at 6:40 a.m. Cathay is using its B777-300ER on the route, though fliers should note that first class is only available on weekends, while weekday flights offer seats just in business, premium economy, and economy.
