For the fifth year, COMO Hotels and Resorts is partnering with MasterCard for the Purchase with Purpose program to benefit charity organizations worldwide. Between October 1 and December 31, every time guests at one of COMO’s 12 luxury properties uses a MasterCard to settle their bill, US$25 will be donated to a local non-profit organization or school at no extra charge to the guest. So far, the program has raised and donated more than $160,000 for more than 2,700 beneficiaries, ranging from Goodwill Group Foundation in Bangkok teaching professional skills to women in need of employment to Peduli Sesama Philanthropic Work in Bali training at-risk young people for careers in the hospitality industry. Says Kuno Fasel, chief operating officer for the hotel group, “Over the years, our guests have demonstrated a keen interest in learning about and supporting COMO’s community partners, and this wonderful partnership not only augments COMO’s community investment, but also provides an easy mechanism for our guests to join us in making a difference.”
