The 30-day travel ban, which does not affect flights from the United Kingdom, will begin on March 13.

New York.

President Donald Trump has announced new travel restrictions in light of the coronavirus pandemic, prohibiting travel from Europe to the United States for 30 days. The travel ban, which does not affect flights from the United Kingdom, will begin on March 13. This move is aimed at keeping new cases from entering the U.S. shores.

Trump added: “There will be exceptions for Americans who have undergone appropriate screenings.”

Previously, the Trump administration had placed travel restrictions on China, which is the most severely affected country by far.

As of March 11, the U.S. has confirmed around 1,200 cases of the novel coronavirus in states all across the country.
