Star Wars fans will have plenty to look forward to even after the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens film comes out in December. At the D23 Expo 2015 over the weekend, The Walt Disney Company announced plans to open Star Wars–themed sections at Disney World in Florida and Disneyland Park in California that will offer visitors a full experience of the galaxy far, far away.
“We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever,” Disney CEO Bob Iger announced at the annual Disney fan conference. “These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”
Although no dates have been announced yet, the 5.6-hectare sites will also feature an attraction that allows guests to take the controls of the Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission through space.
