Those who appreciate the joy of gathering with friends over a good drink will be delighted to learn they will be able to do so for a beneficent cause this month when Drink for Good returns to Hong Kong for its third year. Held on October 8, local charity Hands on Hong Kong will be partnering with over 60 bars and restaurants across the city to donate HK$5 from every drink that is purchased. In the past two years, the initiative has been able to support children with special needs, raising over HK$100,000 each year and taking 100 disabled children on a fun day out at Oceanpark on its first year.
“HandsOn Hong Kong is excited that the initiative is now in its third year,” says Caroline Sprod, executive director of Hands On Hong Kong. “It is wonderful to see venues and sponsors spontaneously coming back to us, asking to take part in this year’s event. It is touching to see how much people care about giving back to our community.”
