Dubai Airport App Now Available on Smartwatches

Hoping to push its mobile services to even more tech-savvy travelers, Dubai International Airport has launched a new extension of their smartphone app, Dubai Airports, that integrates with the Apple Watch and Android-based smartwatch gadgets. Thanks to this update, passengers flying through the Dubai International Airport will be able to seamlessly receive important travel information, such as flight schedules, the latest status of their flights, actual departure and arrival time, all of which can be delivered straight to their smartwatch. Travelers can also now access terminal, gate, and baggage belt information with one easy glance.

“This development is part of an ongoing series of digital initiatives at Dubai Airports that are aimed at enabling easy access to personalized information that allows our customers greater freedom to plan their journey and make the most of their time at the airport,” said Matthew Horobin, head of digital media at Dubai Airports. “As part of the first phase of the project the smartwatch app currently provides customers access to only the most important information related to their flight. There are plans to make the app more interactive while also widening its functionality to include way-finding and commercial offers from food and beverage and retail outlets across the airport,”
